Lessons from PlayStation® First and GameNest®Lisbon

An analysis on how the PlayStation® First programme was successfully implemented in Portugal, alongside the creation of GameNest®Lisbon programme. The benefits and results on creating an alternative student path towards the videogaming industry.

About the Speaker

Ivan Barroso was born in 1980, in Lisbon. He is the Lead PlayStation® First Project Manager, in GameNest®Lisbon, working within the development & deployment of videogames students projects. Winner of PlayStation® Talents – PlayStation Prémios® Awards 2017 with “Out of Line”, plus Nordic Game Discovery Contest Winner with “Obscuria”. Responsible in budgetary control, coordination of Public Relations, Marketing and project development.

Barroso is also ETIC Programme Academic Coordinator in HND/BA, BTEC-Pearson “Computer Animation and Videogames”. Academic Assistant Professor in IPLeiria, BSC, “Jogos Digitais e Multimédia”, and Universidade Lusofóna, BSC, “Aplicações Multimédia e Videojogos”. Founder of GameNest® Lisbon academic programme.
